About the service

WHAT IS SOFT WASHING?
Soft washing is a safer, more efficient way to clean your roof. It uses low-pressure pumps and mildewcides, algaecides, and soaps that are all biodegradable. It’s the recommended method by most major insurers such as the Asphalt Roofing Manufacturing Association (ARMA).

ISN’T PRESSURE WASHING JUST AS GOOD?
No because pressure washing wasn’t meant for cleaning roofs. The high-pressure pumps will move, damage, or dislodge your shingles and tiles. That’s why we only use low-pressure softwashing during our cleanings
DO I NEED TO BE HOME WHILE YOU WASH OUR HOUSE OR ROOF?
No. We can perform all of the cleaning while you’re out on the town. All that we ask is that you give us access to the outdoor spigot, tightly close all doors and windows, and secure your pets inside.
WHY DO I NEED TO CLEAN MY ROOF?
A dirty, unmaintained roof damages your home and neighborhood’s value, but it can have issues deeper than aesthetic ones. If algae is building on your roof, it can dislodge granules that give color and protection to your shingles. With weakened granules, the lifespan of your roof is greatly decreased.
WHAT ARE THOSE BLACK STAINS ON MY ROOF?
Gloeocapsa magma is a type of algae that causes the black discoloration on your roof, especially on the north side and in shaded areas. We can take care of removing this issue during our cleaning.
WILL YOUR CHEMICALS DAMAGE MY PLANTS?
No. Our softwashing technique uses exclusively biodegradable chemicals and we will pre-soak or cover all plants, so there’s no chance of damage.
HOW LONG DO THE RESULTS OF A ROOF WASHING LAST?
While it depends greatly on the environment around the roof and weather, you can expect the clean to last 3 to 5 years.
WILL I SEE THE RESULTS OF THE ROOF WASHING IMMEDIATELY?
You will definitely see major changes within minutes of the cleaning. However, if you have actively growing moss, it could take up to a few weeks for the chemicals to reach the root system.
